The Most Instagrammable Places In NYC

most instagrammable places in nyc

I think we can all agree that New York City is a simply magical place. And whether or not you think it’s the greatest city in the entire world, you’ve got to admit that it’s got some pretty photogenic spots. So today I’m bringing you the most Instagrammable places in NYC. The areas span all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. And most of the places are pretty well known (aka you’ve probably seen them all over your Instagram feed before).

I’ve been going to a few of these spots for years, and others I checked out because of their Insta-worthy details. And while these are my most Instagrammable places in NYC, I’d love to know what spots you love too. And for those asking, I use an Olympus OM-D EM-10 to take all of my Instagram photos!

The Most Instagrammable Places In NYC

The Top Of The Rock

This iconic view can be taken in at Rockefeller Center. The 360 views are stunning and allow you to see many different famous buildings like the Empire State, and Freedom Tower. You can also get a beautiful view of Central Park.

The Brooklyn Bridge

I find that you get the best view while you’re actually walking over the bridge. If you find yourself there in the summer, it’ll probably be packed. Head there in early November to walk across a nearly empty bridge, and still feel warm.

DUMBO

Did you know that DUMBO stands for: Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass? I had no idea, it was simply the area of residence for the Humphrey family (yes, I’m making a Gossip Girl reference). If you want to get the famous photo of the bridge and the cobblestoned streets of Brooklyn, head to the intersection of  Washington Street and Water Street. But, be mindful that you’ll probably have to wait a little bit to snap that photo without anyone in there.

That Ombré Mural

You know that amazing mural in Brooklyn that everyone takes a photo in front of (could I be anymore vague)? Yes, there are a ton of beautiful murals around Manhattan and Brooklyn, but one of the coolest ones is definitely the bright ombré wall by the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO. Take the subway to York Street. The mural can be found around Washing Street on the wall of the BQE.

The Flat Iron Building

Did you really go to New York City if you didn’t take a photo of the Flat Iron building? Fun fact, it used to be called the Fuller building, so I like to pretend it had something to do with my family (which obviously it doesn’t). It was built in 1902 and it’s an iconic old New York building and perhaps one of the most important skyscrapers when it comes to architecture in NYC. Plus, it’s right near Shake Shack, so that doesn’t hurt either.

The West Village

I could spend hours wandering around the West Village looking at the beautiful and historical brownstones. It’s definitely one of the most Instagrammable places in NYC. There are so many historical streets located in that area and you can find some of the oldest buildings in the city in that neighborhood. Next time I’m in New York, I have to find the street that’s filled with the colorful apartments.

Central Park

Central Park is one of those magical places that looks completely different depending on what season you visit. I love it in the fall when the leaves turn colors, but I also love seeing it fill up with hundreds of people in the summertime. There is so much to do there that you could spend weeks, or even months, trying to do them all, and you still wouldn’t finish.
