Malta City Guide

I recently traveled to Malta for Christmas and while there I saw literally everything you can see there.  Malta is a tiny and charming island located in the Mediterranean Sea off of the coast of Sicily. While it is so close to Italy, it is its own country and has a lot of history. Here is my Malta city guide.

To Eat:

Orleander is a delicious restaurant in Gozo, the smaller island of Malta. I ordered the fresh tagliatelle with smoked duck in a pear sauce and it was literally mind blowing. Its a nice little stop for a late lunch before hopping back on the ferry and heading back to the main island.

Crave can be found on the Valletta Waterfront and it is a great spot to have lunch by the seaport. I was trying to be healthy and decided on the Quinoa salad which had dried apricots, pistachios, ricotta cheese, rucola, cherry tomatoes all in a beetroot dressing. AMAZING.

To Do:

Visit Mdina, the Silent City.

Take the ferry to Gozo and check out some of the islands sites, including the Azure Window where Game of Thrones was filmed.

Go shopping in Slima.

Check out the historical Valletta and watch the cannon firing that happens at noon everyday.

Head out to the Blue Grotto.
