#Checking In: The Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport

Radisson blu hotel stagnated airport

I have a really hard time waking up for an early morning flight. And while I have the opportunity to choose from several airports in London to travel from, sometimes I can’t book a flight from the one I want to travel from. And for me, London Stansted Airport is a bit of a pain to get to… Especially early in the morning. And that’s why checking into the Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport made my life 1000 times easier when I was traveling to Italy on a super early flight.

There’s no reason to start your holiday off feeling stressed out. When you travel to the airport the day before and are able to get a better night (and a few hours more) of sleep, your trip will just start off stress-free and with ease. So, if you’re thinking of booking an early morning flight for your next adventure from London Stansted Airport, then seriously consider booking yourself a night at the Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport. It’s located literally minutes from the train station and bus station and it will take you about five minutes to walk to the terminal after exiting the hotel. Have I sold you yet?

Getting To The Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport

There are several ways to get to the hotel from central London. If you’re not coming from central London, your best bet is to either travel to Liverpool Street Station. You can grab the Overground, Northern, Hammersmith & City, Circle, Central, and DLR to get there. If you can’t get to Liverpool Street Station easily, then you can check to see if the National Express has a bus that leaves near you. Keep in mind that the bus will usually take a lot longer than heading to Liverpool Street Station, where you can grab the Stansted Express.

National Express

If you’re opting for the bus, which is often the cheaper option, you can grab different routes starting at (A6) Portman Square, (A8) King’s Cross, (A7) Victoria Coach Station, and (A9) Stratford. Be sure to check out these routes to see if there’s a stop close by to you. I suggest booking tickets ahead of time so you’re not only guaranteed a spot on the bus, but you’re also getting the best price possible. Tickets generally start from around 5 pounds and go up the closer you get to the date you’re leaving.

Stansted Express

This “direct” train service departs from Liverpool Street about every 15-25 min. It’s more expensive than taking the bus, but again, the earlier you book, the cheaper they’ll be. They say that tickets start at about 7 pounds one way, but I’ve never gotten one for less than 15 pounds one way.

Driving Yourself

You can certainly drive yourself to the hotel and park in their lot while you’re on your trip. It costs 20 pounds per night! Or look into one of their Park, Dream, & Fly packages for 4, 8, and 15 days.

When you get off the bus or train, just follow the signs to the hotel. It’s super easy to get there (about a five-minute walk) and won’t take you long at all. Once you enter the hotel, proceed to the check-in desk! A lovely receptionist will check you into your room and let you know about the restaurants on property. They’ll tell you which way your room is and as soon as you make your way there, you can start relaxing.

The Amenities

When you check into your room you’ll find free high-speed, wireless internet, a coffee maker with a selection of tea, coffee, and biscuits. On property you’ll find a state-of-the-art health club that not only has new exercise equipment, but also has an indoor heated pool, sauna, and steam room. Sounds like a great way to relax the night before a flight.

The Restaurants

The great thing about the Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport is that they have a great selection of restaurants on property. Choose from Collage, which serves up delicious British fare, or head to Station 169 for a tasty steak. And if you’d like to just grab a drink and a snack, head to the lobby and visit The Wine Tower Bar.

In the morning, grab breakfast from the buffet, beginning at 4 AM.

And if you’d rather just hang out in your room all evening, room service is available for guests.

Sink into your super comfortable bed in your brand new room. All rooms in the hotel have been refurbished and the modern decor will make you feel at home during your stay. Enjoy a shower under your rainfall showerhead and let the stress just melt away.

Travel Colorfully was a welcomed guest of the Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted Airport, but as always all opinions are my own.
