24 Hours in Glasgow

24 hours in Glasgow

I recently traveled up to Glasgow to attend TRNSMT Fest. And while I was there for three days, I really only spent one day exploring the city. The rest of my time was spent over at Glasgow Green watching some amazing music acts (OMG QUEEN). But anyways, if you only have 24 Hours in Glasgow, there are a few things that I really suggest you do!

Where To Stay

If you’re looking for a comfortable place to lay your head down at night, I highly suggest the Dakota Deluxe. It’s a stunning hotel located in the city center, about a ten-minute walk from the train station. The staff is really helpful and the rooms are beautiful. The only negative I had about this place was that it was always so dark in the rooms! Even at 8 AM!

What To Do

Wander over to the West End. This was by far my favorite area of the city. It was less touristy and more lively. I think it’s because the University is located over there. But anyways, grab yourself some brunch at Stravigan. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was so tasty and the eggs were perfectly runny. We sat outside as the weather was perfect and just watched people walking by.

Afterward, we decided to just wander around the city. We took a walk through Kelvingrove Park. It was so green and clearly a popular place to hang out at on a nice day.

From there we continued our walking tour to the Hidden Lane, a collection of brightly painted houses that are now art studios, jewelry showrooms, and a cute little cafe.

We continued our walk down towards the river where we passed the Glasgow Distillery. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to go inside, but it looked really nice! We continued our stroll to the free transportation museum. This place was so cool as it had different types of trains, buses, rickshaws, cars, taxis, and more on display for you to look at.

After spending a little time there, we continued our 24 hours in Glasgow with a pint from one of the many pubs around.

The rest of the day was spent wandering the streets of the city. There really is so much to do in Glasgow, and I’d love to return to properly explore!
