Where to Stay in Thailand

where to stay in thailand
If you find yourself backpacking around Thailand and you’re looking for accommodation, you’ve come to the right place. I have stayed at my fair share of hotels, hostels and guest houses throughout my time here and I’ve gathered all of the places I’ve stayed into one place. Whether you’re looking for a night of luxury or trying to save the most money possible, there are a ton of options. Here are a few… Where to Stay in Thailand:

Chiang Mai

 So Hostel

Located in the perfect spot, right outside the old city walls, this hostel is walking distance from nightlife, the walking streets and the night market. This is my favorite place to stay in Chiang Mai.

Hug Hostel

Great atmosphere!

Hug Bed & Breakfast

A little bit further away from things, but its a comfortable and quiet hostel.

House No. 11

If you prefer a private room, this guesthouse is perfect as its not too expensive and in a great location, walking distance from all of the hot spots in Chiang Mai.

Koh Phi Phi

 Blanco Beach Bar

The people who work here are wonderful, but keep in mind that this hostel is located right on the beach, making it a party hotspot. The music bumps until around 2 AM, but its clean and in a good location.

Krabi Town

 Pak Up Hostel

This is the perfect place to stay before you need to catch a ferry. The bar is fun, the accommodations are clean and they will help you arrange ferry transports to the islands close by.

Ao Nang

 Mini Boxtel

This hostel is a ten minute walk from the Long Boats that will take you to Tonsai and Railay Beach. It’s clean, quiet and a perfect place to decompress after a few days of partying somewhere else.

Chiang Rai

Mercy Hostel

Located in downtown Chiang Rai, Mercy is a clean and comfortable hostel. You can rent motorbikes for a reasonable price right from reception and you’re close to all of the bars.

Pai

Darling Viewpoint Bungalows

This place was perfect. Its definitely a bit on the rustic side of things, but its in a great location and the staff are incredible. If you stay in a private bungalow, you’ll even have your own little terrace complete with hammocks and amazing mountain views. You might end up staying awhile…

Koh Samui

Free House

Private beachside bungalows for a great price!

Bangkok

Suk 11

If you are looking for an inexpensive, private room in downtown Bangkok, this is the place to go. Its in a great location and the BST is located steps away.

The Blocks Hostel

The staff here are fantastic and its centrally located. You’re close to the train, have access to a small little rooftop and you get free laundry!

Dream Bangkok

If you’re interested in being somewhere a little on the fancier side, this is the place to be. There is a pool, 3 restaurants and a gym!

Sofitel So

If you’re looking for a rooftop infinity pool, this hotel has one of the best. The rooms are beautifully designed and the staff are super friendly.
