How I Stay Fit While Traveling

stay fit while traveling

Being on the road a lot or not having access to a gym or a plethora of exercise class options can make the prospect of actually working out seem daunting. But, I use it as an advantage… I actually hate going to the gym, so I welcome the challenge of finding different ways to get some physical activity in and stay healthy… So, how do I stay fit while traveling?

I ride my bicycle everywhere I go where I live in Thailand. Already thats some daily cardio.

I walk as much as I can in a new city, its the best way to take in the sites, and its cheaper than taking a taxi.

Activities, Activities, Activities… Whether its Kayaking, Paddle boarding, hiking, skiing, diving or riding a bike, I love to do different activities depending on where I am visiting.

So what about keeping a healthy diet? Well, that can be a bit trickier. For instance, living in Thailand has been a huge adjustment for me. Eating rice and noodles everyday was not something I was used to doing back in America and my body knew it and hated me for the change. I felt malnourished my first few weeks out here as I was eating more protein rich meals at home and opting for more fruits and veggies than noodles and rice.

And then I stumbled upon a salad truck at the market, and this became my dinner spot. I also made friends with a restaurant owner here who will now make me chicken and veggies without rice for lunch.

If you look hard enough, you can find healthy options wherever you go.

Something I also added into my life is Stay Lean Tea. Now, I have tried many different teatoxes in the past and this is by far my favorite one. Not only are they the prettiest teabags I have ever seen, but it doesn’t feel like a teatox, it just feels like a positive change in my diet. It didn’t make me sick like some others have, because they don’t use laxatives. They use only natural ingredients like roselle, Goji berries, lemongrass, green leaf and more (some of which I was only familiar with after living in Thailand!). Stay Lean Tea is delicious, which is something that other teatoxes fail at.

My metabolism was boosted and better than that I have had a lot more energy since drinking the teas (which help me make the decision to get some exercise in after work!). I don’t drink coffee, so I am always looking for a good alternative to give me energy and I was not disappointed.
