Road Trip Essentials

I’m leaving on Monday to embark on the road trip that will complete my big move to Florida. I posted about my road trip plans a few months back, and just to give you a refresher, my Mom and I will be stopping in Wilmington, NC on Monday night, Charleston, SC on Tuesday night and then spending Wednesday and Thursday nights in Savannah, GA.

I’m really looking forward to it, as I’ve never been to any of those places before and neither has my Mom. I’ve started to pack up all of the things I brought home with me from Italy, and a big part of that is packing my bag for the car ride.

There are of course essentials that are necessary for every big road trip, and since this one lasts a week, theres no shortage of planning…

Here are some of my road trip essentials:

1. Extra Polaroid Film – I love capturing moments with a polaroid camera and extra film is a must.

2. Polaroid Camera – Taking a photo with a polaroid is so much more fun than just using your phone or camera. I have a ton of polaroids that I hang on a cork board in my room.

3. iPhone 6 with a great case – I can’t go anywhere without my phone. When I don’t have it, I feel like I’m missing something. And yes, while this is pathetic, your iPhone can do pretty much anything these days. I use mine for GPS and I also need to make a killer playlist since I’ll be in the car for five days.

4. Sunnies – It’s important to have a great pair of sunglasses to wear so that you can drive without straining your eyes.

5. GoPro CameraI have become obsessed with filming my experiences so that I can make videos (stay tuned for the most epic video of my time abroad this year). I’m absolutely going to document our road trip to Florida and make a video.

6. Incase Portable Power 5400 – Since my Mom and I will both be in the car and we won’t be able to both use the car charger, I think its a great idea to travel with a portable charger. This Incase charger gives you up to two full charges on your phone, so its totally ideal for a long car ride. It’s also perfect because the USB that charges it is attached and I’m always losing cords.

7. Hand Sanitizer – You’re stopping at reststops, eating and pumping gas. So, its necessary to bring hand sanitizer or wipes with you to keep germs at bay.

8. Headphones – Sometimes, when you’re in a car with someone for a long time, its nice to put in your headphones and take an hour for yourself.

9. iPad – You can play games, you can read books and magazines… Sometimes entertainment is something you need.

10. Snacks –  Reststops can get a bit pricey, so its a good idea to pack some extra snacks. Just stop at a grocery store before you leave and put a bag of goodies together!

This post was brought to you by Incase, but as always, all opinions are my own!
