Ufleku
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Prague. The brewery dates back to 1499 and has been continuously brewing beer for 500 years. My favorites are roast duck, cabbage, bread dumplings, potato dumplings, speck dumplings, Goulash, and Fleck’s treat (made up of roast duck, roast pork and sausage). Make sure to have a glass of their own brew of beer, Flekovský ležák 13°.
Potrefena Husa
I often find some of the best places just by stumbling into them and this was one of those. Still a czech restaurant, this spot puts a modern spin on tradition. Order the chicken soup or the sliders for a less traditional meal. Order the potato soup in bread or the goulash for a more traditional one.
Yam Yam Express
If you’re interested in taking a break from all of the Czech food, this is a great choice. I had the pad thai and it was amazing. The thai restaurant is quick, inexpensive and delicious!
Kolkovna
Try the duck, but share it with someone as it is HUGE. The ginger lemonade is incredible if you don’t feel like drinking a beer. This is a delicious restaurant that is quick. Its also the perfect place for a large group of people as they will accommodate large reservations.
To Go Out
Absinthe Time
This is the first Absinthe bar in Europe. The menu features 26 different kinds of absinthe, which can be prepared cold or hot. Definitely a good place to stop by before you go out for the night.
Chapeau Rouge
This fun bar located by Old Town Square is perfect for a night out. We hung out on the top floor, but you can pay a cover and head to their club as well. There is a dj, beers are cheap and the crowd is friendly. The atmosphere is eclectic and really captures that bohemian spirit.
U Sudu
An underground “cave” bar, U Sudu is a hot spot for students. If you aren’t a fan of smoke, don’t come here because unfortunately the deeper into the cave you go, the less ventilation there is. Still, if you get there early enough you can avoid the clouds of smoke and have a cool atmosphere to drink in.
Karlovy Lazne
This is Prague’s premier five-story club. Each floor has a different theme like, oldies, hip hop, dance, and top 40… Get there early and hit the Ice Bar before it gets too crowded.
To Do
Visit Old Town Square and walk to the top of the Astronomical Clock.
Stroll over Charles Bridge.
Snap some photos in front of the John Lennon Wall.
Eat some late night food in Wenceslas Square.
Take a step back in time and visit the Prague Castle.
