Magical Places: The Picteau Lounge Bar

There’s just something about Florence. The magic that you can find around every corner. All of the history that surrounds you, the people you meet, the food you eat, and the wine you drink. There is always a place to stumble into for an afternoon or evening cocktail, and one of those magical places is the Picteau Lounge Bar in the Hotel Lungarno.

If you know me, you know that Italy holds a special place in my heart. In fact, this whole blog started while I was living there. Florence really sparked my love to travel and it’s the home to several beautiful Lungarno Collection properties.

The Hotel Lungarno is located right on the Arno River. And when you first walk into the Picteau Lounge Bar, you’ll be captivated by the view of the Ponte Vecchio and the river below it. But, the really remarkable part of the intimate cocktail bar is the stunning artwork that lines the walls. Named for the artists Picasso and Coctaeu, Pictaeu is home to both of their original works.

The ambiance of the small cocktail bar is incomparable and the artwork really helps you understand the beauty of Florence. You will truly begin to appreciate how creativity, design, and innovation are pillars in the history of this truly fairy-tale-like city. The Pictaue Lounge is one of those places that you walk into, and think to yourself, “Is this real life?” And it is.

Florence is a place that I will return to time and time again. It truly is my home away from home and the Picteau Lounge embodies. Sip on a glass of Chianti Classico or Prosecco and enjoy the riverfront view. Italy is all about enjoying life, and you can definitely find la dolce vita in the Picteau Lounge.

I love the interior design – how it looks so clean and simple but also sophisticated. I think generally speaking I prefer white/lighter colors because it makes the room look brighter. I would’ve loved to see the views looking out to the river!

    • taylor_fuller@me.com December 22, 2016 at 5:51 pm

yes it’s got a great ambiance
