Why You Have To Go To Food And Wine At Epcot

FOOD AND WINE AT EPCOT

Disney World has a lot of awesome festivals throughout the year. My favorite happens to be Food and Wine at Epcot. Every year from mid September through mid November, Epcot’s World Showcase transforms its menu to feature special, delicious items. There are 30 stands representing different countries and types of food.

Among the countries are: Italy, Mexico, South Korea, France, Canada, Morocco, Scotland, Africa, and more. There are also specialty counters that serve craft beer, wine and cheese pairings, delicious chocolate, and more. My personal favorite was this Korean BBQ beef…it was AMAZING. There was also a craft beer from Clearwater, FL that I ended up loving and really thought I would hate. It was a milk stout and it was fantastic.

You have to remember that many people visit Epcot so that they can drink around the world, so definitely expect some rowdiness throughout the evening (and don’t complain about them, because Epcot’s World Showcase is Disney World for grown ups and it’s fun).

Why You Have To Go To Food And Wine At Epcot

Eat Foods That You Don’t Usually Have The Chance To

The Food and Wine festival menu is extensive. There are foods from all over the world and it’s the best place to try something new. I know that when I go out to eat I’m guilty of eating the same things over and over again, and then I tell myself that I should have ordered something different. Food and Wine at Epcot gives you the opportunity to order foods that you wouldn’t usually order. All of the dishes come in tasting portions and most of them cost around $5, so you can taste something from a handful of countries.

Drink A Selection of Wine And Beer From Around The World

There are so many types of beverages served at this festival. I tasted wine from Italy, Africa, and California. I had craft beer from all over California. You can get beer in Germany and Poland. You can drink French champagnes. There are even a bunch of fantastic cocktails served throughout the showcase. And the best part is they are all pretty much around $5-$6 (unless you get a flight of beer or an expensive glass of champagne). Be careful! You’re going to want to taste so many that you could end up a little more than buzzed.

Pretend You’re Traveling Around The World In One Night

I had such a good time wandering around the World Showcase because so many places that I’ve visited are represented. Each country (that has a permanent spot at Epcot) has these elaborate set ups featuring well known landmarks. Italy has Piazza San Marco, France has the Eiffel Tower, Japan has the Horyuji Shrine, and Morocco has the Koutubia Mosque. It was so fun to see all of these places represented by real landmarks.

There are so many things that take place during the two months that Food and Wine takes place. So, if you’re planning on visiting, make sure you check out the calendar before you plan your trip. This way you can take advantage of classes being offered, and even see some of your favorite celebrity chefs speak or cook.
