#CheckingIn: Hulakai Hotel

If you’re interested in taking in stunning ocean views, then you have to check into Hulakai Hotel in Playa Maderas. The boutique hotel is located a short walk from the beach (make sure you have water with you, it’s steep). Because of its location on a hilltop, you’ll end up getting some of the best views you can imagine.

Staying At Hulakai Hotel

The hotel is made of terrace rooms, casitas, eco-pods, and a house. It’s the perfect place to stay with a group of friends (and for the quality, the prices aren’t terrible – range from $80/night-$350/night). I was happy to have my own room and queen size bed after a week of sharing a room (and how great is that headboard). There was even air conditioning. And most nights, there is a family dinner offered. And when I was there we had delicious filet mignon.

Taco Tuesday At Hulakai Hotel

If you’re in Playa Maderas on a Tuesday night (whether you’re staying there or not), you have to check out Taco Tuesday. I went the week before I stayed there and had the best time. The tacos were absolutely delicious, the live band was great, and the company was even better. Because of this, people come all the way from San Juan Del Sur to take part in the event.

Lounge Around

But, perhaps my favorite part about the whole property is the gorgeous infinity pool and putting green. I could have spent hours laying poolside, taking in the gorgeous ocean view. I watched the most stunning sunset with new friends one night, and it may have stolen the top spot of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen.

No matter what, you’ll end up having an amazing time during your stay at Hulakai Hotel. It’s one of those places you’ll end up traveling back to over and over again.

Travel Colorfully was welcomed as a guest of Hulakai Hotel. As always all opinions are my own.
