I love to show you some of the people that inspire me! I’ve actually had the pleasure to meet some of these people, as well as form some pretty great friendships over Instagram!

Thanks to everyone who participated!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?

My blog is called Gringa Journeys! I chose this name due to my love and passion for the Spanish language. And I started my blog after moving to Santiago, Chile to be able to share some of my advice for other expats in the area and tips for learning Spanish. I didn’t really ever expect anything to come of it as I was using my blog as more of a creative outlet than anything, but it’s turned into something really great.

How long have you been traveling for?

My first trip abroad was to France during my freshman year of high school. Since then, I always knew I would work towards being able to travel more frequently and hopefully obtaining a job that would let me travel. I studied abroad twice in Spain during college and then moved to Santiago, Chile after finishing my Master’s degree in translation. While living in Chile, I was able to travel extensively throughout South America.

Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?

I work full-time as a Spanish-English research translator. So, at the moment blogging is just a side gig that I do for fun more than anything. I love working as a translator because I can work remotely and work with Spanish every day!

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?

I have two trips for 2017 planned that I’m super stoked about! The first is a seven-week-long trip back to Chile. My boyfriend is Chilean and will be graduating college, so I’m headed down there to do a trip to Patagonia and go camping with him. My second trip is to my #1 dream destination and I’m so excited that I actually keep bringing it up in all my conversations, haha. The destination is: Lisbon, Portugal! My interest in Portugal was sparked after learning Portuguese in Brazil this year. Now I hope to see the country where the language originated and explore its history!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?

My blog is named “Get Lost With Jackie.” and I actually started it by accident! At the time Instagram was new and #ThrowbackThursday was a weekly ritual, when I posted one of my Bali pictures on a Monday my roommate at the time joked with me saying, “it’s not #TBT cool it with the pics”. I thought about it and he was right! So I started a second Instagram page and thus – “Get Lost With Jackie” was born!

How long have you been traveling for?

I’ve been traveling for as long as I can remember! My parents definitely sparked my desire to “get lost” as we used to hop in the car as a family with a destination – but no route, taking the road less traveled. When “Get Lost With Jackie” started to grow I acquired more opportunities to travel and the last two years of my life have been filled with new adventures, new destinations, and new travels.

Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?

I don’t blog and travel full time but being that my career is owning/operating an online and digital marketing agency (JS Consults,www.jsconsults.net) – I’m able to work from wherever I have wifi access and a phone signal, which has added to my ability to travel more often the last two years. My business is fun because it allows me to be on both sides of the spectrum. Sometimes with ‘Get Lost With Jackie’ I work on campaigns for brands and other times I’m creating the campaign for the brand with JS Consults!

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?

I only have one trip planned so far for 2017 and that’s visiting Jamaica for a week in January. Combining where I want to visit for fun with where I have to visit for work is also a bit daunting. I’m going back to Italy (perhaps my favorite country) in May to work with some awesome hotel brands and tourism boards for JS Consults. But, for now I’m enjoying the holidays at home in New York with my family, taking it easy and seeing what opportunities 2017 will bring to me.

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?

Once, confined to a New York City cubicle, Courtney dreamed of a life less regular. In 2007, with a one-way ticket in hand, she quit her job, moved to Italy and started a blog while teaching English to support her dream. At that time there were only a dozen travel blogs out there. She got to know the industry from its inception. She haven’t looked back since. Now she travels for a living as a travel blogger, filmmaker and leading on-air travel expert. Courtney has been featured in over 400 travel interviews including national broadcast segments on CNN, MSNBC, Today Show as well as interviews with Refinery 29, Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

In 2015, she co-founded Girls Meet Globe, an Instagram community founded on the idea that “One woman can make a difference, but together we can conquer the world.” What began as an experiment has evolved into a destination where nearly 90,000 women come to get inspiration from the most epic girls trips in the world. What Courtney loves most about the project is watching women supporting one another, and instigating each other to plan trips together.

How long have you been traveling for?

My first trip abroad was when I was 16, then I studied abroad in New Zealand during my junior year of college. I quit my job and moved to Italy about eight years ago.

Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?

I am a full-time traveler and content creator. Depending on the day, I write, art direct, edit footage, and host.

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?

I can’t reveal everything yet, but I have some repeat trips to some of my favorite destinations like Tulum and Hawaii planned in early 2017. I’d love to get to Africa and see more of South America this year too! I’m also planning some trips where I can take my family along!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?

Our blog is Find Us Lost. My fiance Jacob and I started it while traveling through the Balkans in early 2016. We were sharing photos from our travels on Instagram, and our friends and family kept asking for tips and recommendations for destinations they wanted to visit too. I really wanted to create the type of travel guides we wanted for our own travels: a mix of local spots and delicious restaurants, and highly visual. It’s how I like to plan our travels.

How long have you been traveling for?

We left our lives in Los Angeles this past March, so it’s been just over 10 months now.

Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?

I work part-time as a marketing consultant for a U.S. company. I love brand marketing so I definitely channeled my professional career into Find Us Lost. Lucky for me, Jacob is a freelance photographer and videographer so it was only natural for us to document our travels.

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?

Nothing is set yet, but we’ve been talking over Estonia, Spain, Romania and Japan. That could change within a week – which is half the fun when you are traveling!
