#BiminiBliss: The Beautiful Island of Bimini

BIMINI

You can find paradise. And its only a short 30 minute plane ride from Fort Lauderdale. The island of Bimini is a part of the Bahamas and its close proximity to South Florida makes it the perfect option for a quick weekend trip

#BiminiBliss

If you’re looking for a weekend full of bliss, look no further. Bimini is a beautiful oasis located less than an hour from South Florida. You can get there several ways: seaplane, boat and regular plane. If you choose to travel by seaplane, you’ll fly with Cape Air. You can fly from Fort Lauderdale International Airport or from Miami Seaplane Base (the views from the plane are AMAZING). You’ll arrive right at Resorts World Bimini with this option. You can also fly with Silver Airways. This option will have you landing on South Bimini and will require a ferry ride to the resort.  Lastly, if you decide to come in on your boat, just know you’ll have to go through customs upon arrival.

What to Do While You’re In Bimini

  • Rent a golf cart and head into town and try some delicious Conch Salad from Joe’s Conch Shack. Get there early so you can see the conch shells being split open!
  • Stop at Charlie’s for a taste of the best Bimini bread on the island. Charlie makes a bunch of different flavors of bread like cinnamon, coconut sweet bread and regular (the best kind)
  • Get a slice of pizza from Edith’s Pizza (we didn’t make it here this time, but every local we met told us we had to taste pizza from Edith’s)BIMINI
  • Visit South Bimini Island – between the nature and the beaches you’ll fall in love with the other island of Bimini
  • Head to the tip of the North Island and check out the Gallant Lady Shipwreck – The shipwreck has been there for so long that only its rusted skeleton remains. This is the perfect place for sunset and you won’t be able to stop yourself from jumping into the crystal clear water.
