This is the second week where I will be introducing you to some more travel bloggers to follow in 2017. They’ll be telling you about their blogs, where they get their inspiration from and their upcoming plans for 2017! I hope you enjoy this short series. I love to show you some of the people that inspire me! I’ve actually had the pleasure to meet some of these people, as well as form some pretty great friendships over Instagram!

Thanks to everyone who participated!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?

The name of my blog is The Bold Brunette. It’s a place where I write about luxury & adventure travel and about my personal pursuit of a globally-based life. Travel has always been my ultimate passion, but I am unfortunately not able to foster that passion in my current day job. The Bold Brunette lets me stay true to the thing that most brings me happiness.

The name comes from me being, well, brunette! And bold. I think it takes a bold person to realize & act on their desire to break free from the typical 9-to-5.
How long have you been traveling for?
I’ve been traveling ever since I was very young. My first domestic trip within the United States was at seven months to Sanibel Island and my very first international trip was at age seven to Montreal. Over the years, I traveled more and more, doing things like working as an English teacher in Cambodia and spending a summer in Greece studying. Needless to say, I’m hooked on travel and the wanderlust isn’t going away anytime soon.
Do you travel and blog full-time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?
I am currently based in New York City and my full-time career is doing PR consulting for startups. While I enjoy the lifestyle for now, I am looking to be location-independent in the next couple of years.
What are your plans for travel in 2017?
My solidified trips are to Vieques, Puerto Rico in January and to Cuba in February! I am also mulling over Alberta, Egypt and Portugal. It’s going to be a big travel year for me and I am so excited!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it? The Belle Abroad is about my adventure living in London and traveling Europe and beyond with my husband! We moved from North Carolina so Belle is playing on my southern belle roots!

How long have you been traveling for? We moved abroad in April of 2015 but have enjoyed jet setting together since we married in 2010!

Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it? I worked in NC as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse for over six years and finished my degree as a Nurse Practitioner right before we moved! For the last year and a half, I have taken a break from the medical field and enjoyed my creative outlet as a blogger full time!

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)? 2017 is going to be a BIG year! We will be ringing in the New Year in South Africa–a place I have dying to visit! Also, next year we are planning to explore Southeast Asia and Australia, both longtime bucket list destinations for me!

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?
Since I lean more toward the “travel writer” than the “travel blogger” side of things, my website is simply branded to my name. I do post a lot of original content on the blog section of my website, but mostly, I use my site as a portfolio for the pieces I publish elsewhere. It’s meant to be a professional resume of sorts.
How long have you been traveling for?
This particular “trip” just hit the 6-month mark. Back in June 2016, my husband and I moved everything into storage and booked a one-way ticket out of West Palm Beach with just backpacks and carry-ons in hand–we’ve been wandering around ever since!
Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?
A little bit of both. I divide my time between my own travel writing career and working part-time for my husband’s company, where I handle influencer marketing and field press opportunities. It certainly keeps me busy, but combining life as a digital nomad with life as a travel writer has worked out quite well!
What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?
Some places on my radar in 2017 include Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific islands, Cuba, Iceland, Scotland, the south of France, and Morocco… Kind of all over the place! We’ll see which places I actually visit.

What’s the name of your blog and the story behind it?
Miss Adventures Abroad began as a way for me to record my travel tips and experiences as I worked as a student travel guide in Florence, Italy. In just over a year, it has grown into a larger resource for study abroad students, budget travelers, and the wanderlust-obsessed, with posts about traveling from over 10 countries!

How long have you been traveling for?
I have had a strong desire to travel for as long as I can remember! In 2nd grade my parents took me to spend a month in Chile, and I’ve been in love with discovering new places and cultures ever since. Thus far, I have visited 6 continents and 23 countries, and my bucket list just keeps on growing!
Do you travel and blog full time or do you have a career that you love as well? If so, what is it?
This past year I was lucky enough to have a job that required I travel-in fact, nearly every weekend I was bussing out of my home base in Florence to help lead college students around some of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. While it wasn’t always easy, it was 100% worth it, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to move abroad after graduating college. I recently relocated back to the United States, and am now looking to pursue a career in marketing & social media while continuing to support my travel and blogging goals!

What are your plans for travel in 2017 (whether it’s a bucket list destination or you already have something planned)?
After spending so much time being inspired abroad, this year, I’ll be turning my travel sights to my home sweet home the good old US of A! In 2017 I’m looking forward to exploring my hometown of Chicago, Illinois with fresh eyes, relocating to sunny California, and beginning an epic West Coast Bucket List! Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze in a visit to somewhere tropical this spring, so I can escape the cold Chicago winter. I’d also like to start making plans for a backpacking adventure in Southeast Asia, although that might have to wait until 2018.
